
In March 2010, PMI sponsored a team with Seacoast church and 29 volunteers traveled from Charleston, SC to Masindi, Uganda to provide quality medical care to the local people. Under the medical leadership of Michael Overcash, the team was able to treat over 1,450 patients throughout 5 days of clinic including over 125 dental patients. We were excited to offer dental care to the people of Masindi for the first time through the leadership of Dr. Chris Keenan, a dentist from Atlanta who joined the team.

In May 2010, PMI sponsored another MUSC Medical Campus Outreach team composed of over 100 medical students, providers, RN’s, Physical therapists, occupational therapists and pharmacy students. The large team was able to treat over 2,500 patients in 8 days of clinic and saw incredible healing in Masindi.

In August 2010, 24 PMI volunteers traveled to Masindi to help deliver quality medical care. Dr. Cody Carpenter led the medical team and together they were able to treat over 1,000 patients in 5 days. The August team was also blessed to have Dr. Bill and Susalee Sasser and a team of 10 dental students accompany them every day at the clinic and provide dental care to the people of Masindi.

In December 2010, 31 PMI volunteers traveled to Masindi under the medical leadership of Dr. Edward O’Bryan. The hard working team was able to treat over 1500 patients in 5 days of clinic and saw incredible healing throughout their time there. The team was also able to witness the opening ceremony for the completed outpatient building and also meet the newly hired local Ugandan staff for the Masindi-Kitara Medical center.
